Inditherm
Medical products have been awarded an English National Health Service (NHS) PASA
contract, and they are now available through the NHS Logistics
organisation. The contract covers
patient warming systems for the operating room, recovery room (PACU), emergency
department, neonatal unit, delivery suite and post-natal wards.
This award has
been made following PASA assessment of the suitability of the products and
evaluation of pricing levels, compared with other technologies.
The NHS PASA
contract ensures that hospitals can order products through NHS Logistics at
pre-negotiated prices and discounts.
Further, the process leading to the award meets the needs of European
legislation, removing the need for hospitals to issue tenders for purchase of
any product covered by the contract.
The Inditherm
technology has already seen the number of users within the UK NHS increasing, as
the performance and benefits of the patient warming systems are more widely
recognised. It is anticipated that
the award of the NHS PASA contract will help to further accelerate
uptake.
