The running costs of the Inditherm under-grass pitch heating
systems are significantly lower than for equivalent gas/water (glycol) or
electric cable systems.
The power consumption will depend upon a number of factors, including the
ambient temperature conditions, the heating pad spacing, and the way the control
system is managed (automatic or manual). However, a typical UEFA football pitch
will be rated at between 300kW and 400kW. Experience has shown that the actual
power draw in a typical British winter season is below 200kW, meaning that the
actual power consumption is much lower than equivalent hot water or cable
systems.
Based upon the actual experience at Falkirk and Chelsea, the running costs of
the Inditherm system have been found to be very low compared to competing
systems. The Inditherm system typically costs around £200 to £300 (€300 - €440;
$360 - $550) per day to run. This is significantly less than the cost of running
