There are several options for the configuration of the power
supply of an Inditherm pitch heating system. These will depend upon the stadium
or training ground layout, the availability of mains power from the local
substation, the expected ambient conditions, and the design of the Inditherm
heating system itself.
There are two main power supply options:
- A mains switch panel located in the local substation
feeding mains voltage to pitch-side transformer and switchgear housed in
control panels mounted either above or below ground. These feed power at
around 50V through cabling to the under-pitch junction boxes and heating pads.
- Mains switch panels and transformers housed under the stadium stands or
adjacent to the pitch and feeding power at low voltage to pitch-side junction
boxes, which in turn feed power at 50V through cabling to the under-pitch
junction boxes and heating pads.
